Solutions for Aging

As the American population ages, family members are faced with the challenge of caring for aging loved ones. One study, conducted by Gallup-Healthways, found more than 1 in 6 Americans reported caring for a family member, relative or friend, while still working a full-time or part-time job. Many caregivers reported spending more than 25 hours each week providing care to elderly parents or other family members. Many caregivers reported that the responsibility of providing care for an aging loved one significantly impacted the quality of their work.

The feelings of guilt and overwhelm can be lessened with the addition of quality, professional homecare. The addition of trained caregivers can alleviate much of work that is put on the family member while still providing assurance that their loved one is being expertly cared for. This can decrease the stress of caring for an aging family member and facilitate a return to spending quality time together.

Why SIGMA HomeCare?

As we age, it is important to feel and be as independent as possible. For this reason, it is not always easy to ask for help as we age. Sometimes, however, with just a little bit of help you can stay at home safely while maintaining your dignity and health. It can be difficult to ask for assistance. It can also be difficult for family and friends to juggle helping while taking care of other responsibilities in their lives.

But, what if there was someone who could provide just a little bit of help? This can often lead to continued independence. You could have the freedom to bathe without relying on a family member to stand by. With some extra help, you could continue to get groceries and cook your favorite meals. Having a little extra help could also mean keeping your home clean and uncluttered, which can reduce your risk of falls. Most of all, a little extra help can provide peace of mind to your family members, especially if they live in another town or state. SIGMA HomeCare makes maintaining your independence possible.

Getting Started

The first step in initiating care is to determine what type of care you might need. The team at SIGMA HomeCare will set up a complementary in-home assessment. We will work with you and your family to determine what daily activities you are having difficulty with, how your medical needs and symptoms are impacting these activities, and what is important to you. Following this assessment, a customized plan will be developed. This plan will outline how much help you need and what types of activities you need help with.
